Eve is holding the forbidden fruit while the serpent is coiled around the tree. Eve is the first woman to be created by God. The forbidden fruit is a metaphor for knowledge. The serpent is a symbol of temptation, which is also a metaphor for evil. Eve is often depicted as the mother of all living. This Bavaria piece was from a limited series seldom found today.
