    GM used many types of clips on the trim throughout the years. Some are nylon, some metal. Your vehicle may have 1 of 3 types for your model year. Also if the car was repainted and the trim removed, a substitute may be in place.
    Different asembly plants used different clips at times. Nylon is not the best. Metal may be preferred as it holds the trim down better but can rust. Nylon breaks from drying out.
    On the A body GM I have seen 6 different part numbers for the same vehicle. Camaros used at least 3 for the same body.
