Vtg 1950s MCM Shawnee Art Pottery USA ~ Bird Figurine ~ Green Blue Orange~ on Grey Stump
This very colorful ceramic bird figurine was produced by Royal Copley in the mid-century period of the 1950s and 60s.
No two of the figurines were the same, because each was hand painted by the porcelain glazing artists. This one is lovely with the lush deep hues of Cobalt Blue, Forest Green, and Burnt Orange—and a patterned Grey stump.
It is in excellent pre-owned vintage condition with no chips, cracks or breaks; and stands approximately 4 ½” high at the wing, and the bird is approximately 5” long from beak to tail.
Please keep in mind this is vintage and not a new item. I try to describe items as accurately as possible, but cannot always detail each flaw. Crazing and manufacturing flaws such as pin heads, color variations, straw marks, bubbles, inclusions, and other manufacturing anomalies, which are considered normal for glass, china, and pottery of age. Most vintage items are as they came from an estate, so may have water stains inside vases of age, scuff to wood, etc.
